Join us for 2023's Chalk the Walk, a fun literary initiative led by the Flamingo Writers' Guild and held in partnership with several local businesses including Sloppy Bob's, Napoleon's Pizza, Creative Cabana, and more! Anyone can participate and win fun prizes, while livening up our sidewalks for trick or treaters and neighborhood walkers.
How Do I Participate? It's easy — and it's free! Simply write a poem (yes, a haiku is fine!) and write it on the sidewalk outside of your house. Then take a picture, and send the picture with your address to [email protected]. Every person who enters will be entered into a raffle to win free books and city gift cards!
When Will Winners Be Notified? Raffle contest winners will be notified via email by Saturday, November 4th.
When Does the Contest End? We wanted to have the contest end on Halloween so everyone could enjoy the sidewalk art, but the nonstop rain this year forced us to extend the deadline to Friday, November 3rd.
What if I need a poem? It is easy to find poems online, but if you prefer to avoid that entirely, just email us at [email protected], and we will send you a short poem. Let us know if you prefer that poem be in any particular style.
